Tough Times……..Who or what do you choose?

November 13th, 2008

Hello Sisters of Faith,

I think we are all looking around and seeing how tough times are for all of us.  It doesn’t matter where you are in life times are tough.  We see job loss, home foreclosures, bills piling up, so much uncertainty of what is a head.  Then the holidays are around the corner.  It is so easy to get depressed and anxious about our futures and our families.  We all have things we can personal do to improve some of our circumstances, but there is so much that is out of our control.  We have become a society that puts so much stock in man that we have forgotten man can and will fail us.  But, there is only one being that will never fail us and will always be there in the good and even the toughest of times we encounter.  That precious name that you can always depend on over any other name that is out there. The one that governors not only our lives but this country weather Democrat, Republican, or Independent your political beliefs or thoughts.  See, we have put our faith in the wrong place, now its time to put our faith in the one who can really change our lives and our circumstances.  We need to begin calling on our heavenly father God, King of Kings, Lord of Lords our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ.  When we begin to not only trust and lean Him  to guide us and direct us as we go through the tough times and are delivered from them.  I said go through, because there is a light at the end of the storm of tough times and it is the light of God which will deliver us.  We will come out stronger and wiser as the song writer Marvin Sapp says: I would have never made, could have never made it with out you (God).  So be encouraged and be strong because we will make it out of these tough times if we choose God to direct us through. Remember this verse: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love the him, who have been called according to his purpose.  And  Who shall separate us from the  love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?  Romans 8:28 & 35 NIV   These scriptures lets us know that the good and the bad work together to form who we are and who we believe in.  We as Christians are not excused from tough times, but because of God working on our behalf we are able to come through it stronger and wiser with more faith and courage to move forward in the future God has planned for us.  Its time to take our adversities and turn them around for a better future in Christ. Let us begin to pray and rejoice for the victory is ours because we know who to choose in tough times. Remember  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us. Romans 8:37 NIV

Historical Day……..Bright Future

November 5th, 2008

Hello Sisters of Faith,

What a wonderful time for us all as a group and a nation, with a new President Elect-Barack Obama.  We had an opportunity to be part of a historical day.  What a true blessing to see an  African American be judged by the content of his character rather than the color of his skin, just as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr dreamed about for us as a nation.  We have finally reached past racial barriers to achieve something that had only been a dream for so many of us, and now is a reality.  This time has shown that anything is possible with God, hard work, and a dream.  We have a bright future because a new day has come.  Just like this historical moment you have an opportunity to change your destiny and see a bright future that is part of  bigger plan of God’s.  We can only achieve if we believe that God is the author and finisher of our story.  Once we realize that the only thing standing in our way is us. Lets take a lesson from our President Elect-Barack Obama and strive for a bright future that God has planned for you, don’t be the obstacle in the way of your historical day.

God Bless,

Minister Wanda

What are you holding onto…..

October 29th, 2008

Hello Sisters of Faith,

I want to ask a question What are you holding onto?  Are you holding onto anger from the past because of drama or trauma?  Are you hanging onto hatred for the wrong that has been done to you?  Are you holding onto resentment and strife?  Are you holding on to things that should have been dropped along time ago?  Are you just holding onto empty promises and broken dreams?  Are you barely holding on.  Well, its time to hold on to the rock that can withstand  any kind of storm that comes your way?  It is time to hold on to something that will last forever.  It is time to hold on to someone who will not let you down. It is time to move forward and not look back.  It is time that you hold grap hold of God and His word, and never let go.  He is the only one that can withstand the the test of time and has prove that He is the solid rock on which I stand because truly all other ground is sinking sand.  Take the ride of your life, but don’t forget to just hold on to God’s unchanging hand.

Taking off the mask……

October 23rd, 2008

Hello Sisters of Faith,

How many times do act like you have it all together when deep down things are falling apart?  How many times do act tough when inside you feel weak?  How many times do say everything is alright, but you don’t believe that yourself?  We all at one time or another have put on this mask, but underneath things were cracking apart.  We even have nerve to try and put that mask on before God.  But, the wonderful thing about God is that he can see through our masks to deep in our souls.  So, why do we feel that we can’t show are true selves to others and even worse to God.  Is that because we don’t want people and especially God to think less of us or is it because we are afraid to be vulnerable to others and even to God,  which we feel  or thinkwill make us look weak in their eyes.

Well, the one thing I am finding out that taking away the mask only allows God and maybe even others to see our true selves not a cover up.  When we take that mask away we can finally change what ever is under the mask.  One thing is true that  even if you can’t reveal yourself to others the one person you can reveal your true self to is God.  See, he doesn’t make judgements or make you feel worse about what you are hiding behind the mask.  God opens his arms to those with or without masks it doesn’t matter to  him, the only  thing that matters is that you seek him and find comfort and joy again.  If we all would take a lesson from God and learn to embrace those who come to us wanting to take off  their mask and find support.  And instead of giving negative words and actions we  can help  build them up rather than keeping them down.  Now, it is time to check and  see if maybe we are one of the those hiding behind a mask and wondering how to take it off.  Just know that you can’t hide from God and he only wants to help you remove the mask and become a new person in Christ.  That is the main reason God sent Jesus to die to take away the mask of sins and doubts and to help us heal our wounds and become brand new.  Isn’t it time to peel away that old mask?  Now, lets just take it off and begin to change with God, all that has been hidden for so long.

God Bless,

Life of a Dreamer…..

October 16th, 2008

Hello Sisters of Faith,

I was wondering what makes a dreamer.  It is so funny to me that when a person has thoughts of going beyond what is reality they are dreamers.  Or when you don’t want things as they are and you believe they can be better your a dreamer.  It astonishes me that when you decide to want more for your life or family that others can’t get their heads around you are a dreamer.  When you want to see this world in a new way or explore different avenues you are a dreamer.  If you see that things don’t have to stay the same that change and be good you are a dreamer.  When you want to start your own business or live in wonderful home in great neighborhood than others  feel you should then your a dreamer.  When you can visualize things that others can’t even open their minds to see your a dreamer.  When you tell others that God wants to place  you in a spot that others feel you shouldn’t be in they say you are dreamer.

Well Sisters, I rather be like  the first dreamer God, who invisioned a world and in 6 days created what he dreamed about.  I want to dream like God, that even though we sinned  he dreamed of a way to save  us from our sins.  I want to be dreamer like Jesus  who dreamed that we would one day except him as Our Lord and Savior so that we would have eternal life.  I want to be a dreamer like Jospeh that God took his dreams and made them a reality that saved a nation.  I want to be like all those dreamers who are teachers, business owners, leaders, inventors, scientists, designers, doctors, lawyers, pilots, social workers, actors, play writers, and all those that dreamed of a better life and future. Now their dreams are reality and their dreams have created openings for ours and posibilites we never thought could be achieved.  See a dreamer is the one that doesn’t stop dreaming because you can’t relate or see past your own fears.  So to all you dreamers dream on…. Just like Tyler Perry said on his message board;” Dream, Dreamer .”  I don’t know about you, but I like the life of a dreamer and if there were no dreamers were would we be.

Be blessed

Minister Wanda

A Leap of Faith…..

October 7th, 2008

Hello Sisters of Faith,

I was just thinking that when you are younger, how you have no fear.  We took or take chances and don’t care about what people think, we only know that we’re going to live the dreams placed in our hearts.  But, as we become so much more maturer we tend to become fearful of taking any chances.  And even as we become maturer in Christ we have fears and concerns about what people think and our own abilities.  Then we forget that our faith should be built in God and his ability to see us through our dreams, visions, or goals that has been placed in our hearts.  Remember that by taking that leap we are excerising our faith in Christ, we are putting our trust in something that is above anything would could ever see with our natural eyes.  The word of God in Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the substance of things hoped for the evidence of things not seen.  As Sisters of Faith we have to take that leap into the futures that God has for us, even if we don’t know all the details.  But, trusting in the fact that this journey we are about to embark on is one that will be taken with Christ.  It is time to get out of our comfort zones and escape our fears and move towards the goals, dreams, or visions that God has laid on our hearts.  It is time to be those young women we once were and don’t worry about what man or woman thinks, but only what God thinks and wants for your life.   Remember this words from God  found in Hebrews 11:6  Without faith it is impossible to please him.  Just leap with God and don’t look back you are not in this alone.

God Bless you,

Minister Wanda

Dreams in my prayers……..

September 29th, 2008

Hello Sisters of Faith,

How many of you have dreams or God has given you a vision?  How many of you feel like your dreams or the vision is impossible to reach?  How many of you question your experience or abilities to achieve them?  We all have dreamed of that perfect job or career, home, Mr. Right, or maybe even that new business or ministry or something I may not have even metioned.  But what ever that dream or vision maybe it is not out of reach and in some cases it is closer than you think or could even imagine.  The only difference from a dream and reality is what you or rather who you place your faith in.  If you are seeking God in all that you do, then you are believing that nothing is out of your reach if it is in line with God’s will for your life.  The only way to know the will of God is through prayer and reading the word of God daily.  Just as the word of God reminds us, No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.  I Corinthians 2:9 NIV     As Barbara Johnson stated:   Allow your dreams a place in your prayers and plans.  God given dreams can help you move into the future He is preparing for you.   As Sisters in Faith we need to encourage one another and build each other up and not tear each other down.  We need to support each others dreams and not become dream destroyers just because we may not have found dreams of our own.   So let your dreams begin to take form in your prayers and watch them come to life.

God Bless,

Minister Wanda

New Beginnings……

September 17th, 2008

Hello Sisters of Faith,

I know that it has been a long pause from the last post and for that I am sorry.  Summer has come and gone and  fall is approaching and its time for new beginnings and fresh starts.  We may have all been through some different changes some good and maybe some not so great, but you made thank God.  Now its time for us all together as women of God to reach for a new start.  We can’t change the past but we can improve our futures and make new paths for our lives.  It is never to late or too early to start over and begin again with a fresh look on life.  As you begin this new journey of unlimited possiblities Sisters of Faith will be there also;  starting a new journey with more energy and new adventures to open your hearts and minds to all that God has for you to achieve.  I personally will take this journey of a new beginnings and I challenge you to do the same and begin to live each day knowing that God has a plan for your life and it greater than you could ever imagine, or what anyone can see for you.  If you just seek Him first and know that you are a child of the King and worthy to do great things in your life and in others.  Remember starting a new journey is like starting a new job, it may take time to get adjusted to doing something out of your comfort zone, and then there will be obstacles that will try and I did say try and get in your way.  But you have the upper hand because you have God on your side.  The word of God says: For nothing is impossible with God” Luke 1:37 NIV.  When you remember that you can start a new beginning knowing that God has your back and with that everything that God has for you is in your reach.

God Bless,

Minister Wanda

I am not the same…..So What

July 18th, 2008

Hello my Sisters,

How many times have you been approach by someone that knew you years ago and the first thing they say is boy you have changed?  They may even go as far as stating how; rather be stating you have gained weight, gotten older, or even still single etc.  That is true you have changed and so what, who wants to be the same as they were 10 years ago.  We should all want to prayerfully grow and be different then we were.  That is the same as being a Christian, you should consistently be setting the bar higher and continue to grow in Christ.  You shouldn’t think that just accepting Christ is all you need to mature in his word.  You should want to be more than when you first received him into your life.  There should be growth even when you make a mistake, which we all do from time to time because no one is prefect accept, God.  Remember you are not the same and that is true you are a new creature in Christ and for that you should want to be more than what you were before he came into your life.  So when someone says you are not the same tell them so what,  you are right I am even better than before.

Be Blessed,

Minister Wanda

When your back is against the wall….

July 6th, 2008

Hello Sisters of Faith,

What do you do when your back is against the wall and you can’t move?  Are you the one that just gives up or do you get angry and begin to fight.  Well I have been on both sides and I have learned  that there is only one thing you can do.  When your back is against the wall just look up and seek your strength from God and then begin to fight.  Fight with prayer and the word of God.  See that is why when you are free you should read the word of God and begin to  put the word in your heart for those times when you back is against the wall.  The only way to free yourself is with God and the word of God in heart.

God Bless,

Minister Wanda
